Nandhees Foods was born out of a shared dream and deep commitment to making wholesome, homemade food available to everyone, everywhere. Founded by three inspiring women – Ms. Shwetha Prabhu, Ms. Baghya Lakshmi, and Ms. Aishwarya – our journey began with a simple belief: home-cooked food should be a basic right, not a luxury. In today’s fast-paced world, where unhealthy eating and lifestyle diseases are on the rise, it has become more important than ever to offer food that is clean, safe, and nourishing.
At the heart of Nandhees Foods is Founder & CEO Ms. Shwetha Prabhu, whose vision stems from her personal experiences and concerns about the growing impact of chemicals, artificial flavors, and preservatives found in today’s packaged foods. With growing awareness about lifestyle diseases and health complications linked to unhealthy eating, she felt it is an imperative commitment – to create food products that are as close as possible to what one would prepare in their own kitchen – fresh, natural, and free from harmful additives. She envisioned a brand that delivers the authentic taste of home cooking without compromising on safety or affordability. Her dream led to the creation of Nandhees Foods, rooted in the belief that every individual deserves access to nutritious, flavorful, and affordable food.
Backing this vision are Ms. Baghya Lakshmi and Ms. Aishwarya, whose expertise in production, packaging, and marketing has helped build a robust system that ensures every product is crafted with care and integrity. Together, they lead a passionate, all-women team that is the backbone of Nandhees Foods – from sourcing ingredients and preparing the batter to packaging and customer service. Through meaningful employment and skills training, the team not only delivers excellence but also empowers women to grow professionally while contributing to a larger social cause.
Our flagship product, Utsava – Idly and Dosa Batter, is a celebration of nourishment, togetherness, and the joy of shared meals. We believe that breakfast is the most vital meal of the day, and that’s why our batter is made with premium ingredients, prepared fresh daily, and carefully packed to preserve its taste and texture – without unnecessary chemicals. Our mission is to ensure that families across Chennai and beyond can enjoy traditional South Indian delicacies that are both wholesome and affordable.
Looking ahead, we are actively investing in research and development to expand our range of products, crafted from the finest ingredients and free from harmful additives. From nutritious staples to ready-to-cook items, we aim to bring convenience and care to every kitchen without compromising on quality.
